Scrying The Landscape w. Elina Tapio And Hannah Pezzack

Scrying the Landscape VIII is dedicated to the recent lunar eclipse of the Super Blood moon, a rare astrological event that was last in alignment thirty-three years ago, in 1989. The “Blood moon” is so-called because it passes under the planet’s shadow, causing a dark red hue, while the “Super moon” occurs when the lunar orbit is closest to the Earth, leading to it appearing far larger than usual.

The celestial rock that hangs in the night sky has long been a fixation of the composers of early electronica, who crafted otherworldly, machine-based music, backdropped by the space race and omnipresent threat of annihilating nuclear weapons during the Cold War. The eighth instalment of Scrying the Landscape includes TV Victor’s 'Black Hole Ceremony', which was released upon the 50th Anniversary of the first moon landings. The mix also features The Threshold HouseBoys Choir, the solo project of Peter Christopherson, an artist famously fascinated by occult lunar energies.
