Personal quest in exploring the unknown and the familiar, at times dark, at others hopeful, victorious, wonderful. Each 2 months, for 2 hours a time, structured as a series of loosely connected shows, Vanja Rakić interprets a specific topic of choice, in the process excavating sounds from around the world made by those eager to question, and be at odds with the status quo. Embracing the unpredictability, letting go of control and dwelling into alien territory, Naked Gums is here to pose a peek into the alternative, drawing the curious in, and spitting them out on the other side of the tunnel, challenged hopefully.

Vanja Rakic is an Amsterdam-based, Banjaluka-born visual artist, graphic designer, DJ. His sets explore the outer reaches of dark and atmospheric soundscapes, weaving together elements of haunting ambience, relentless beats, and raw industrial textures to create an immersive and intense auditory journey. Nothing is off the table, as long as it supports the underlying motivation — breaking free from the state of stasis.

As a visual artist and designer entrenched in the music sphere over the years, Rakic's creative imprints can be found etched into the fabric of projects like Sounds of Ogigia, Osarè! Editions, 20/44, Mutant Radio, SUBURBIA. As a radio maker, his selections often showcase a curious understanding of music history and a willingness to explore unconventional territories, making his work appealing to those who appreciate a broad and adventurous musical journey. He is a regular contributor to Tibilisis Mutant Radio with his residency show Naked Gums. Alongside cocore he is part of Public Transportation //GTH.
