Show Description: "Bulldozers From The n s y d e" is a monthly radio show broadcast from Tbilisi's Mutant Radio, hosted by Berlin-based Richard Zepezauer (RZ-1).
This show operates at the borders of the known, searching for the unknown.
As the demand for innovative and thought-provoking narratives on dance floors and beyond reaches new heights after more than four decades of DJ culture, this show stands at the forefront of that evolution.
Richard Zepezauer challenges conventional DJing limits, demolishing barriers through conversations and short interviews with leading artists, tastemakers, and music experts. Featuring in-depth artist and label spotlights, the show uncovers the hidden gems and secret weapons from the deepest corners of the recorded music world.

“The possible has been tried and failed. Now it's time to try the impossible.” (Sun Ra)

BIO: Richard Zepezauer stands as a visionary energy in the electronic music scene, not only as the founder of the genre-bending n s y d e label but also as a DJ whose sonic language each time has left an indelible mark at Europe's most iconic venues, including Berghain/ Panorama Bar, legendary Tresor, and the late Concrete Boat in Paris. Known for his ability to craft daring, genre-spanning journeys, Zepezauer transforms preferably wooden dancefloors into spaces where raw kinetic energy gives way to moments of profound deep emotional resonance. His sets are celebrated for their unpredictability, effortlessly moving from pulsing, sweat-drenched hypnotic House cultured beats to immersive, layers of microtonal ambient soundscapes, that evoke moments of stillness and reflection.

In 2010, Zepezauer embarked on a bold new direction, co-creating the highly acclaimed Sun Ra Reel to Reel Sessions with the late Detroit legend Mike Huckaby. These groundbreaking events attracted contributions from luminaries such as Pole, Jimi Tenor, Thomas Fehlmann, and CGB-1 (Dubplates & Mastering). In 2018, the Sun Ra Sessions earned the prestigious honor of opening the Detroit One Circle Festival, placing the experimental event series alongside pioneers like Mike Banks, Mark Ernestus, and Juan Atkins.

Zepezauer’s creative curiosity doesn’t stop at the club. In 2013, he ventured into the realm of contemporary classical music, collaborating with the Berlin Academy of Arts on a Wagner opera project. Further collaborations with renowned contemporary music ensembles followed, pushing the boundaries of what a DJ could achieve with analog gear, reshaping the craft by experimenting with texture, context, and sound in ways few had ever attempted.

Currently, Zepezauer’s focus is on constructing a new studio, being a family father, and hosting a monthly radio show on Mutant Radio, where his explorations continue to fuse storytelling and sonic experimentation. With new releases on the horizon from n s y d e, Richard Zepezauer remains an ever-evolving searcher, always a step ahead in charting new paths in both musical production and live performance—the unrelenting quest for the new.
