11/09/2024
For the third Episode of SADAA - Echoes of the Mena, I Ali Asfour invited Jinjin, a music producer, Dj and music selector based in Jordan - Amman.
Jinjin In devotion to the redemptive impulse immanent in the heart of all sentience, jinjin weaves tapestries of light and sound that emanate from beyond the threshold, unveiling the hidden link between the tangible and the elusive. Spectral traces of these revelations can be found in works such as “A Practical Guide For Deliverance” and the independent film “In The House Of Names” directed by Sulaïman Majali, recipient of the Margaret Tait Award commissioned by LUX Scotland and Glasgow Film. “Emanations” seamlessly unfolds through a selection of music by artists who have evidently and masterfully dedicated their craft to the same impulse, featuring pieces by Alice Coltrane, Maria Joao, Pharaoh Sanders, Dorothy Carter, Vinicius Cantuaria, Shigeto and more.
