“Dispatches from the NYC underground: left field electronics, raw live cuts, unreleased gems and other oddities selected by the Lost Soul Enterprises crew and extended family, this week featuring a special live take from experimental electronic saxophonist Diamond Terrifier (aka Sam Hillmer) and a long from DJ set by Ricardo Laine, the mysterious Toronto-based artist Andre E-R - also known under the techno moniker R-oderick.
Diamond Terrifier (aka Sam Hillmer) is a Brooklyn-based musician, artist and organizer. He is a founding member of the band Zs, one half of the art duo Trouble (with Laura Paris), and also makes music as Diamond Terrifier.Recent collaborations include work with David Salle, Tauba Auerbach, Dirty Projectors, Laurel Halo, Arto Lindsay, and Eartheater.
Ricardo Laine is the slower tempo'd alias of Toronto born Andre Edwards-Roderique. Under this guise, his tastes are inspired by early 80s R&B, new beat, house, industrial, and EBM. Ricardo Laine exists partially as an homage to his mother. Ricardo being his middle name and Laine (Elaine) being hers, he explores the pathways of romanticism, beauty and power dynamics in the tone of his sets. He has also released music on labels Model future and is a new inductee into the vaults of the ever forward Pinkman records. His music is deep and winding taking listeners on an almost cinematic journey.
